Ncha! Bycha
Help the little robot girl Arale Norimaki ( 則巻アラレ ) greet folks in her village in this 1982 handheld electronic game based on Akira Toriyama's Dr. Slump anime series.
Arale, accompanied by her best friend and adopted little sister Gatchan, have to move around a hexagonal road fast enough to greet villagers or they'll get angry and punch her.
As the villagers begin to appear on screen, at first just as silhouettes, move Arale either clockwise or counter clockwise using the TURN buttons to meet each villager in time to greet them using the NCHA button. Doing so will score 10 points for every greeting. Failing to greet a villager in time will result in Arale getting punched and scoring a miss. Score 3 misses and the game is over.
As the game progresses the speed and number of villagers will increase, temporarily reducing every 1000 points, before speeding up again. If you reach 2000 points any misses scored are cleared, and when you reach 4000 points the last miss scored will be cleared.
In the more challenging 'Game 2' mode, some villagers won't want to be greeted, and will appear waving their fists as they get closer. Arale must avoid them because they'll punch her if she tries to greet them.
If you're fast enough at hitting the NCHA button you can greet a villager more than once to score extra points. Also, after greeting a villager, if you only move in a clockwise direction you'll score 30 points for every villager you greet after that. If you move counter clockwise at any point however the scoring goes back to 10 points.
Arale's greeting of Ncha! is her shortened version of the Japanese greeting of Konnichiwa.
