Super Mario Bros
Based on the NES video game of the same name, Nintendo released this handheld edition in it's Game & Watch series of electronic LCD games in 1988. Featuring the same gameplay as the earlier Crystal Screen edition (1986), Mario goes from left to right, jumping across platforms and over obstacles in order to save Princess Toadstool.
Bowser and his Koopas (a tribe of turtles) have invaded the Mushroom Kingdom and kidnapped Princess Toadstool! To free the captured princess Mario must set out on a quest to rescue her by passing through 8 unique worlds:
- World No. 1 - Canyon
Leap between platforms to avoid falling into the canyon below.
- World No. 2 - Gym
Skip over obstacles and avoid being squashed by the walls.
- World No. 3 - Burning Room
A non-scrolling world where Mario must avoid the spinning flames in a timed challenge.
- World No. 4 - Channel
Mario must swim under water while avoiding the floating bars.
- World No. 5 - Hop
Leap between platforms while jumping over walls.
- World No. 6 - Beam
Another non-scrolling world where Mario must leap between moving beams in a timed challenge.
- World No. 7 - Maze
Carefully pick the right route through the maze.
- World No. 8 - Burning Road
Avoid the burning flames that lie on the road that leads to the princess
At the end of each world an illusion of the princess will appear to guide Mario to the next world. When all 8 Worlds are completed, the game loops and the next 8 Worlds await with even more challenges including enemies (Lakitu and Bullet Bill) that will try to stop Mario.
