Climber (DR-106)
A fast paced scrolling platformer released by Nintendo in 1988 as part of it's GAME & Watch™ series of dedicated handheld LCD electronic games. Climb your way up Block Mountain, avoiding the native Blockmen and their flying pet birds, to earn a chance to battle the dragon at the very top.
CLIMBER, a boy with wisdom and courage, sets out to become a warrior on a training mission to the Block Mountain where the Blockmen live. On the way he meets Lord Meiji who gives him special boots that will enable him to jump very high, armor to help him break the blocks laid down by the Blockmen, and a headband to help him find a sword that can slash the big boss of Block Mountain, Dragalo, with one stroke.
To advance up the mountain, use a combination of the JUMP button and LEFT and RIGHT direction buttons to jump on to blocks laid down by the blockmen. If there is a platform directly above that is in your way, you can punch through the platform by jumping up. It will require two jumps to completely remove a platform. Be sure to avoid running into the blockmen or their flying pet birds as you make your way up the mountain.
Once you reach the top, time your final jump to reach Hentori, a special bird sent by Lord Meiji to take you to the next phase. After every 5 phases you'll get a chance to catch a sword with which to kill Dragalo, the dragon boss of Block Mountain.
