Tetris Game Watch
Nelsonic released this wristwatch adaption of the Tetris video game in 1990 under license from Nintendo.
The object of the game is to fill as many horizontal lines as possible from the random geometric shapes that fall from the top of the screen. When all six squares in a line are filled, the line disappears allowing the lines above it to move down. After 20 lines have been filled the player will advance to the next level where the speed of the falling shapes increases. The game ends when there is no more room to form complete lines.
There are a total of 15 rows in the playing area. However only 11 of these rows are visible onscreen at once. During a game the player can select to view the lower part of playing area (lines 1 to 11) or the upper part (lines 4 to 15) by pressing the SET button located on the left side of the watch. When the lower lines are in view, a line of 4 squares will be displayed at the top of the screen denoting the hidden lines above.
Points are awarded based on the number of lines filled simultaneously.
1 line | = 2 points |
2 lines | = 5 points |
3 lines | = 10 points |
4 lines | = 80 points (Tetris!) |
The score is displayed each time you advance to the next level and at the end of the game.
