Splatter House
Splatter House (also known as Splatterhouse) is a challenging handheld electronic LCD game produced by Namco in 1988 based on their video game of the same name.
Parapsychology student Rick Taylor, trapped inside a haunted house called West Mansion, is transformed by a Mayan sacrificial mask into a fighting monster with superhuman strength. He must maneuver his way across three floors of the mansion, jumping over haunted objects (knives, ghostly hands and demon serpents) and fighting off paranormal creatures (bats, haunted chairs, fire breathing corpses and floating skulls) to save the beautiful Jennifer Willis from the clutches of a demonic monster.
To move between floors Rick must JUMP to grab a floating ladder so he can use it to climb up to the floor above. Once grabbed the ladder must be climbed within 15 seconds or it will be removed and begin floating again.
On reaching the top floor Rick must face off against the giant monster and land 8 blows to defeat him. If the monster strikes Rick at any time a miss is scored. The number of blows landed against the monster however remain after a miss so Rick will only need to land the balance of the blows to defeat him.
When the monster is defeated the game advances to the next level where more creatures will be added. Any misses scored will be cleared when advancing to the next level. Complete all 5 levels to win the game.
If three misses are scored before completing a level the game is over. To resume the game press the MODE button to enter continue mode, and then press the FIRE button to resume the game. The game restarts at the same level but any points scored are cleared.
