Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Take on the role of your favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in this 1989 handheld electronic game from Konami.

Beloved April has been kidnapped by Shredder, a villain more vicious than an army of mind altered Bruce Lees. Now, you must play the role of your favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and rescue her before she becomes a member of his Nasty Ninjitsu Foot Clan.

First you'll need to enter the sewer and knock off a horde of hench creatures by using your Katana blade and Karate chop. Then you can descend into the water below making your way past the Turtle Cutter and Electro-Barrier Reef to find the Freedom Key. Once you get the key you can return and free April from Shredder's Asylum.

In the more challenging Game 2 and Game 3 there is a time limit when you're underwater. If it reaches 0 and you're still in the water you'll lose a life. In addition, you will to need retrieve bombs located underwater, then set them off around Shredder's Asylum until the shatter-proof shield around April shatters. Once the shield is down, you can then head back into the water to find the Freedom Key that will free April.
