Donkey Angler
Donkey Angler is a handheld electronic LCD game released by Gakken in 1982.
In Donkey Angler a boy has set up 3 fishing poles to try and quickly catch as many fish as possible.
In Game A, the fish move upwards towards the bait set on hooks at the end of the fishing poles. Move the boy LEFT and RIGHT to position him at a fishing pole where a fish is about to eat the bait. The fishing boy will automatically raise the pole and yank the fish out of the water. Score 1 point for every fish caught. A miss is scored if a fish manages to eat the bait before the boy gets to the fishing pole.
In Game B, the fish sometimes cautiously circles the bait a few times before taking their chance to eat them. Also there's a crab which sometimes suddenly appears at a fishing pole trying to cut the fishing line with it's claw. Move the boy quickly to the fishing pole to yank the fishing line out of the crab's reach. You'll score 2 points for every crab you prevent from cutting the fishing line. If you don't get to a crab in time, it cuts the fishing line and a miss is scored.
Both Game A and Game B ends when three misses are scored.
When a miss is scored you can still move the fishing boy during the miss animation. Use this time to re-position the fishing boy to catch the next fish in line before the game resumes.
