Nu, Pogodi!
Nu, Pogodi! (Well, just you wait!) is a portable electronic game released by the Soviet electronics manufacturer Elektronika in 1984.
Move the wolf as he tries to catch eggs rolling down from four different hen houses. The game features four buttons, one for each spot where the wolf can put his basket. A miss is scored if a egg is not caught. Sometimes a hare shows up to distract the wolf. If an egg is missed while the hare is around, the player only gets half of a miss (indicated by a blinking miss mark).
In Game A, eggs will only arrive from three of the hen houses instead of all four in Game B. As the game progresses the rate and quantity of eggs will increase. Every 100 points this temporarily returns to that at the start of the game before increasing again.
The characters in Nu, Pogodi! are based on the Soviet children's cartoon (1969-1986) of the same name. It follows the comedic rivalry between The Wolf and The Hare, similar in many ways to the U.S. cartoon Tom & Jerry, where The Wolf is constantly trying to catch The Hare but never succeeds. Very little dialogue is present in the cartoon, save for a few interjections and The Wolf’s most common line which he frequently says when his plan fails, “Nu, pogodi!” or, “Well, just you wait!” in English.
Nu, Pogodi! is a clone of Nintendo's Egg Game & Watch handheld electronic game, featuring the exact same gameplay, but using the KB1013VK1-2 4-bit microprocessor, a Soviet clone of the Sharp SM-5A microprocessor used by Nintendo.
