Description

Cuphead LCD is a fast-paced fan-made shoot 'em up style handheld electronic game based on the Cuphead video game from StudioMDHR. All the artwork used in this fan game is the property of StudioMDHR Entertainment Inc.

Gameplay

"Nowhere to run, nowhere to go. This forest is yer foe!"

Cuphead must stand his ground and fend-off a frenzy of forest creatures as they attack from all directions. Cuphead will have to shoot them before they reach his location, otherwise he will lose 1 health point for every creature that manages to reach him. The game ends when Cuphead has no more health points left.

Game Modes

There are two game modes available. In the easier Game A, Cuphead starts out with 5 health points, while in the more challenging Game B, Cuphead only has 3 health points. There are also more enemies in Game B, like a spiky bulb that will randomly drop from above.

Enemies

All enemies (except for the spiky bulbs in Game B) damage Cuphead when they reach his location irrespective of which way he is facing.

  • Aggravating Acorns
Acorns that fly towards Cuphead from either side of the screen.

  • Deadly Daisies
Orange-petaled flowers that descend toward the ground (from either side of the screen) and then bounce up towards Cuphead.

  • Murderous Mushrooms
Stationary mushrooms that can jump up from the ground and fire spores towards Cuphead. Cuphead must shoot the spores before they reach him. If Cuphead manages to shoot a mushroom while it is in the air the mushroom will disappear for some time while it regrows.

  • Spiky Bulbs
In Game B, spiky pink bulbs randomly drop down from the top of the screen. They can not be hit with the peashooter, so Cuphead must move either to the left or right to avoid being hit directly over the head.

Scoring

An on-screen timer measures how long Cuphead manages to survive before dying. The goal is to try and stay alive for as long as possible. The handheld records your best time for each mode.

Rankings

There is a online leaderboard that ranks players' best times. Whenever you beat your best time in the game, your time will be added to the leaderboard and ranked against other players.
